Norland linebacker Keith Brown is the first commitment for the 2012 recruiting class for the University of Miami. Brown received his first official scholarship offer on Wednesday from the University of Miami and decided to officially commit to the Hurricanes today. When InsideTheU.com checked in with Norland 2012 running back Duke Johnson just over a week ago, he wasn't even getting interest from any schools. Johnson (5-9, 170) did say that the first school on his wish list would be Miami, and his wish was granted in short order. Johnson received an official UM offer yesterday and is excited about the possibility of playing for the Hurricanes.

2012 quarterback Jameis Winston from Hueytown High (Ala.) is one of the most highly recruited junior signal callers in the country. Winston (6-4, 191) had picked up offers from Alabama, Auburn. Miami, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss, and that was by the end of spring football. Read here to learn more about this 2012 prospect.

Miami had always been a school under consideration for linebacker Anthony Wallace from Skyline High in Dallas, Texas, but the Canes were just one of many. After getting his first look at Miami on an unofficial visit a couple weeks ago, Wallace (6-1, 220) is taking them very seriously.

In his first season of playing high school football, Carol City senior wide receiver Derrick Macon hopes to make a big impact. If Macon's performance in the kickoff classic between Carol City and Palm Beach Dwyer is any indication of the way he will play this year, he may be one of Dade County's breakout players for the 2010 season.

Glades Central 2012 wide receiver Jaime Wilson is ready to become a household name this year as he enters the 2010 season. Wilson had 12 catches for 296 yards and 5 touchdowns as a sophomore, but he really wasn't getting any significant playing time until the eighth game of the season. Now Wilson (6-0, 180) is a junior and will be heavily relied upon by the Raiders as opposed to playing more of a reserve role in 2009.
